CARZ N’ TOYZ DONATES $12,000 TO WEISMAN CHILDREN’S REHABILITATION HOSPITAL
CHERRY HILL – This donation promises to bring plenty of fun to the rehabilitation of children of all ages. The money will fund the purchase of a highly advanced video game platform called Eye Play. According to Hospital Administrator, Kathy Hall- Olsen, Eye Play encourages kids to use all parts of their bodies in motivating and interactive ways that will facilitate their recovery. Michael Rosiak, Hospital COO, added, “Carz N’ Toyz’ generous support will help kids move through a very challenging period of their lives in a positive way. A tool of this caliber allows us to increase our activity collection and improve the therapy experiences of our patients.”
Founded in 2011 Carz N’ Toyz is a non-profit 501c3, whose mission is to enhance the hospital experience for kids and their families throughout southern New Jersey. The organization also funds concussion impact testing for young athletes and recently gave Virtua Voorhees $35,000 to build a play zone within the facility. A third beneficiary, The Osborn Family Health Center Pediatric Program in Camden, received $5,000 to purchase much needed medical testing and monitoring equipment.
In the beginning, Carz N’ Toyz mission was to deliver toys to sick children in the region. But it quickly became much bigger. To date, Carz N’ Toys has raised $270,000, 90% of which has been allocated to beneficiaries. According to Carz N’ Toyz President, Sam Lacroce, “It all started with toys and that will continue to be an important part of what we do because a toy can make a sick child smile and lessen the stress of hospitalization.”
