CARZ N’ TOYZ DONATES $10,000 AND A LARGE TOY CONTRIBUTION TO VIRTUA HOSPITAL
Carz N’ Toyz came through big for kids served by Virtua this holiday season, delivering more than 1,800 toys during the Carz ‘N Toyz annual Toy Run to Virtua Voorhees on December 8. Carz N’ Toyz also made a $10,000 donation to Virtua Foundation that will be used to purchase artwork for the Pediatric Pavilion at Virtua Memorial, now under construction.
“We know that superheroes appear to be everyday, dependable, good-hearted people,” said Rose McManus Coleman, vice president, Virtua Foundation. “And just like superheroes, the Carz ‘N Toyz members are all that and more – they are larger than life and have the strength and power to perform extraordinary feats. They are our superheroes who are here for our kids when they need them the most.”
The toy run began at Café Aldo Lamberti in Cherry Hill, where Carz ‘N Toyz members, who are united by their love of cars, gathered with friends, family and volunteers. A caravan of more than 15 lavish sports cars traveled to Virtua Voorhees, followed by a large box truck donated by Pellegrino Chevrolet that was filled toys. More than 75 volunteers lined the entrance and hallway inside Lobby B, forming an assembly line to unload the truck.
Throughout the year, this group of local car enthusiasts collected donated toys for pediatric patients at Virtua during the holidays. Their efforts ensured that kids served by all Virtua facilities, including the C.A.S.T.L.E Program at Virtua Camden and the Centers for Women at Lumberton and Voorhees have enough toys and supplies to last the entire year.
